The Fury U16 Boys began their season winning the MSSL showcase and doing so in undefeated fashion. The Boys began the weekend playing against the NJ Spartans and grabbed the lead through a Kody Kazda goal. Although New Jersey scored on a set piece to tie the game in the last minute. The blemish seemed to light the fire in the team who then took on Bayside, FC Premier and LeHigh Valley in the next three matches without conceding a goal and limiting the three teams to a combined 4 total shots on goal. All three games ended 1-0 with the goalscoring coming from Mitch O'Brien, Kody Kazda and Everitt Childs. Both the Fury U16 and U17 Boys returned from MSSL as Tournament Champions.

According to the Chinese calendar 2010 is deemed 'the year of the tiger', but after the year that the Ottawa Fury had 2010 truly was 'the year of the Fury'. From successes on the international scene with teams in France and England to youth players signing professional contacts to the W-League and PDL teams run in the playoffs it was an exciting season for the Fury. 2010 was capped of by the U17 capturing the Super Y-League North American Championship and the Fury Youth Program being ranked #2 in North America. With John Pugh's recent partnership with OSEG and his efforts to bring a professional soccer team to Ottawa 2011 is sure to be another exciting year for soccer in our Nation's Capital!

Ottawa Fury U16 Boys traveled down to participate in the highest grouping (Championship) of the FC Delco Tournament, in which they were finalists the previous year.

Ottawa Fury vs. Philadelphia SC Coppa 93 (PAE)
The Philadelphia Coppa were ranked #13 in the United States previous to the tournament (now 32nd) so the Fury knew they would have their hands full.  Coppa came out early and scored an early goal when a man was left unmarked in the box for a easy goal against.  This seemed to wake up the Fury as they picked up the pace immediately afterwards and began to pressure the high ranked American club. 

The U16 Boys travelled an exhausting 15 hours for their first tournament of the year. The first game was against unknown WVSC U16 Elite Titans in very wet and rainy conditions. The first half was physical battle as all challenges from both sides were at 100%. The Titans had some speed up front and saw a couple of breakaways in the first half which they failed to capitalize on. Fury opened the score with a hard working effort from Brandon who ran over the last two defenders and the keeper to put the Fury up 1-0 to end the half. The second half was again a physical match between both sides. Fury were taking control of the game and possession which again saw Brandon's hard work up front put the Fury up 2-0.
