Fury U11 Boys Win Rochester Tournament
The U11 Boys entered two teams (Blue and Red) in the Cobras Summer Classic in Rochester, NY.
Fury Team Red kicked-off the tournament with a hard fought 3-2 win in a very physical game. They then went on to dominate their second game by a score of 18-0. All 11 players scored at least one goal.
Needing only a draw to secure their spot in the final Team Red left no doubt with a dominant 7-0 win in their third game. All that was left was to wait and see which team would qualify for the final in the other U11 bracket.
Not wanting to be outdone by their teammates, the Fury Team Blue started their tournament with solid 4-1 win.
In their second game, Team Blue quickly got a substantial lead. However, while leading 4-0 three quarters into the game they seemed to lose their concentration and allowed the opposition to come back and tie it in the final minute. Some of the boys, clearly disappointed in the draw, vowed to learn from the experience.
Needing a win in their final round-robin game Team Blue proved that they were ready to bounce back with a 5-2 win in which they were never really threatened.
Team Blue’s big win confirmed their spot at the top of their bracket and would set-up an “All-Fury Final”.
It was then decided that, rather than play against their usual teammates, they would share the title as co-champions.
The feedback that I got from parents and coaches of the other teams present was very positive as they were impressed with the Ottawa Fury’s clean, skilled, ball-control style that our boys displayed.
Way to go U11 boys!!!

Ismail Sow Enjoys Training Experience at MK Dons
A few weeks ago,
Ismail Sow was invited to train with MK DONS Academy in Milton Keynes, North of London, England. There, he was reunited with one of his former teammates and very good friend,
Elliot Simmons. Ismail was able to train with the U13s (Elliot's team), U14s and U16s for the whole week.
Coaches, players and staff of MK Dons Academy all made this a fantastic experience and I would like to thank them all for that. Last but not least, seeing my brother Elliot and his family was priceless! Thanks to the entire Simmons family for everything.
